Calibrations
Calibrations are used to define relationships between coordinate frames. The calibration method may differ depending on whether the application uses Robot Vision Manager or a Process Manager, but the function of calibration is the same. In applications using Process Manager, the calibrations can be found in their respective sections in the Process Manager edit pane. The Process Manager will show calibrations required for defined processes.
Calibration Tool
A good tool for calibration of the robot to a conveyor belt, or camera is a pointer which mounts precisely to the tool flange of the robot, and which has a ball end that fits perfectly into a conical feature in a calibration disk.

How to make your own calibration tool
The important features of this pointer/disk system are as follows:
1. If vision is used, the disk should be roughly as tall as the parts that will be located by the vision system.
2. If vision is used the disk should be easily recognized by the locator tool.
3. The machined feature should be perfectly centered on the disk.
4. The pointer should be perfectly straight and perfectly centered.
5. The pointer should be mounted to the Robot very accurately.
6. An M6 dowel pin is recommended along with the standard bolt pattern.
